Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Or, you know, Dress In As Much Green As Possible Day.

Anyway, I made a commemorative crochet pattern for you guys, of a shamrock. It’s adapted from Attic24’s heart pattern with a few ideas added in as well. Enjoy!

Crochet Shamrock

  • 3mm hook
  • Suitable yarn
  • Yarn needle
  • Embroidery scissors

Abbreviations: Ch = chain, Sl = slip, St = stitch, Rnd = round, Dc = double crochet, Tr = treble crochet, Nxt = next

Gauge isn’t required for the pattern to work, but my gauge is fairly loose.

Ch 4, sl st into 1st st to form a circle.

Rnd 1: 1ch, 6dc into centre of circle, sl st into turn ch.

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1st tr), tr 4 into nxt st, *sl st into nxt st. Tr 5 into nxt st, repeat from * twice. Ch 4, 1dc into nxt 3 ch, sl st into base of stem. Fasten off & thread in ends.
