Knitted Christmas + A Birthday

This post comes to you in 2 parts.

Part 1: I was finally able to continue making more Christmas decorations, and the latest ones that are finished are some knitted ornaments. There’s a Christmas tree with chains of lights? Baubles? Whatever they are, they’re only glued down, and they continue on the other side as well.

I also knitted an elf. The back piece is two rows larger than the front piece as I got a little distracted and knitted two too many red rows. Oops!

The elf is a lot larger than the little tree, as you can see.

They currently hang together on my door handle. Both of the patterns came from a book from the library that outlined the basics of knitting.

Part 2: Being the observant and organised blogger that I am, only today did I realise that yesterday was Tiny Horse Talk’s second birthday.

So Happy (belated) Birthday, and thank you all for hanging around. I love reading all your friendly comments and sharing my crafty adventures with you. Here’s hoping for a lot more years at the keyboard!

Anyways, see ya!

Finished Newt Cosplay

I finished the Newt Scamander cosplay!

I even made a little bow tie, to increase the accuracy even more.

I also quickly put together some assorted vials and shed skins for a replica of his little workbench in his suitcase.

You can see the skin just below the papers, as well as a little potted plant near the lamp. There’s a few interesting rocks there, too, maybe they are samples of rocks found in certain habitats.

I also crocheted a vine to add to drag the eye away from the fact that the interior is that of a wand shop, so maybe the boxes are all full of papers, or samples, or other magizoologist-y things.

Anyways, see ya!

All-Rounder Pants

I was able to add another wardrobe staple to Sarah’s closet recently, a pair of black pants.

I was going to put elastic into the waistband, but I ended up using a simple ribbon tie at the back.

On both sides, there are pockets for stray hands…

…and Ten poses.

I don’t think that blue jacket is working very well underneath the trenchcoat. Maybe I need a blue waistcoat – kind of like the one for Newt, but with a collar and a higher neckline.

Having these pants finished not only means that my Tenth Doctor mini cosplay is (basically) finished, but the Newt Scamander one is too…

Anyways, see ya!

O Christmas Wreath – Part 2

I crocheted another miniature Christmas wreath as I had a second one of the bottle-cap circles, and the first wreath looked a little lonely.

img_9763_1

img_9764_1

It’s a lot plainer than the first wreath, partly because I wanted to see what a plainer wreath looked like, and partly because I wasn’t bothered making a heap of things to put on it.

You guys didn’t see the original wreath next to a horse did you?

In Sarah’s hands, they’re quite big, but next to Fawkes they get dwarfed. Or maybe these ones are just extra bushy, and normal sized wreaths are actually quite small compared to drafters. I don’t mind a bit of extra bulk.

Anyways, see ya!

Dapper

In continuing with my pursuit of the perfect (or as near as I can get) miniature Newt cosplay, I made an orange waistcoat.

I do think it looks very nice with just the shirt underneath. She could almost be a dapper Victorian gentlewoman (in summer)…

…or she could be a witch. \_(^^)_/

All I need to do now is the pants, and this cosplay should be finished. I might just put her in black sneakers instead of making a whole new pair of shoes.

Anyways, see ya!
