The Little Hufflepuff

Recently, I finished my first item of clothing entirely knitted on toothpicks.

Knitting on toothpicks makes things just the right scale for Sarah, although it can get fiddly sometimes.

This scarf was done in moss stitch, just because I love the look and feel of it.

A certain magizoologist was spotted in Diagon Alley wearing the scarf, so it’s already quite popular in the wizarding community.

Even among droids! (Sidenote, I reckon BB8 is a Hufflepuff.)

A Gift

Recently, it was a friend’s birthday, and I decided to crochet her some amigurumi friends as a gift.

I’m quite proud of the Snitch, I think it looks really good.

If I could change one thing about it, I’d put wire in the wings so they don’t flop about, as they’re made of yarn.

The little fox was made with a pattern by Annelien Vanessche, whose Ravelry account is here if you’re curious.

It all got wrapped in a little bag with a hand-stamped birthday card. The recipient loved the gifts, and named the little fox Jamie.

Winter Bunting

Do you guys remember the autumn bunting I made a while ago? Well, this is a winter version of that bunting.

IMG_1793_1

I made it with the same pattern as the last one, just different shades.

IMG_1794_1

It’s actually two triangles shorter than the autumn one, although I’ve no idea why.

IMG_1795_1

It matches the winter-y blanket, too!

I see the Three Broomsticks has been decorating for the season. 🙂

Finished Pineapple Shawl

The shawl I was nearly finished last Project Roundup is now finished!

IMG_1711_1

You can see the pineapple edging here, the fruit is in between the leaves.

IMG_1712_1

The yarn has sequins in it, and they really do sparkle under lights!

IMG_1713_1

You can see it drapes wonderfully.

I’ve worn it out once, and received a lot of compliments, with people exclaiming “Wow! You made that?!” quite a bit. I’m really happy with my first handmade large item of clothing. I’ll definitely make more clothes, but maybe not for a while. I’ll stick to small stuff for a bit!

Anyways, see ya!

Sarah’s New Jumper

Do you remember how Sarah was eyeing up the yarn I knitted my socks with? Well, she has her own garment in that yarn now.

IMG_1689_1

The pattern came from a book called ‘Knit Your Own Boyfriend’ by Carol Meldrum, which I originally picked up ‘just for a look’.

IMG_1690_1

There’s ribbing around the sleeves as well as the bottom and neck.

I think it’s perfect for keeping warm under a blanket…

…or extra cool days in Diagon Alley. If I could modify the pattern somehow, I would make the neck lower at the front, but other than that, I love it. Sarah adores it, as you’d expect. I have plans to make a few more in other colours, so we’ll see about that pattern modification.

Anyways, see ya!
