Project Roundup

I’ve finished the embroidery for the Slytherin badge, woohoo!

Here’s the colours done…

…and it’s finished!

The badges are currently drying in the sun, and after they’re dry, I’ll cut them all out and sew felt and a safety pin onto the backs of each.

I also finished covering the interior of the stable. I ended up choosing to do half the walls in cream and half in wood, which looks very classy.

The floors of the stables are covered in paper that looks sort of like bedding, and the parquet floor is for a little multipurpose room, to store tack and some seating and feed, if I can.

Anyways, see ya!

Granny Square Day

Today is Granny Square Day, and the idea behind it is that you create and/or post a picture of a granny square online, so that there is a virtual granny square blanket across the internet. This wonderful lady created the day, and I thought it’d be fun to bring out the rainbow granny square blanket I made for Sarah.

I’m also trialling some little backdrops that I cut from old calendars, this is one of the winter scenes.

Sarah assures me she is “very cosy!” at the moment.

Badge Updates

I’ve finished the silver background on the Slytherin badge!

Not in this picture, though, but…

…wait for it…

Huzzah! This really feels like a milestone. Next, I’ll do the green border in cross stitch as well, and after that I begin backstitching. I want to make the silver I just finished look quilted with the backstitch, and hopefully a twisted ribbon pattern will go on the green edging.

3D Collage

I cut a heap of little horse pictures out from a ‘picture a day’ calendar I had years ago, and I didn’t know what to do with them all for a long time, until today.

I used about half of them to cover this box.

I left the sides with a bit of white, so it wasn’t overwhelmingly horsey.

This picture is one of my favourites…

…as is this one.

I use the box to store things like pens and desk ornaments, so the top of my craft desk is less cluttered.

Now, what to use the other half of the pictures for…

Stable Renovation

I feel like this stable has been through countless renovations, but hey, there’s always time for one more!

I plan to rip out and recover all the interior walls:

and exterior, including the windows:

The exterior is currently being covered with white weatherboards, which goes along with the light, airy feel I want the new renovation to give the stable. I’m not sure what to do for the interior yet, but it will be in a similar vein to the outside.

Anyways, see ya!
