2017 In Review

Whew! What a year!

I believe last year I re-capped the year in 12 photos, and I thought I’d do the same this year, so we can see how my skills have developed. Starting with January:

Looking at the pictures I chose, I seemed to do a lot of sewing and crochet this year! There were quite a few big achievements, including the knitted socks, the shawl (my first crocheted item of clothing), and publishing the Occamy pattern.

I was also able to make some miniature food this year, including the delicious cinnamon rolls – don’t they look delightful? I also think my miniatures skills have improved alongside my sewing/embroidery and crochet skills, what with the trophies.

Hopefully next year I can continue improving, and try to make a few more big projects, like sets (*cough* Diagon Alley), as I find them just as fun as the little projects I make in between.

It’s been amazing sharing this year with all you wonderful readers, your comments truly make me happy, and I enjoy sharing in your blogging journeys too.

Anyways, see ya next year!

Early? Nah!

It may be a little early to decorate for Christmas for some, but not me!

In addition to the wreaths and tinsel on the stables, I also put some plushies I made last year on my door handle…

…as well as replacing the garland on the door. The miniature wreath is there because I haven’t made the life-size one yet. It’s kind of cute, though.

IMG_2331_1

I also decorated my bookshelves. These garlands look great when the fairy lights are on, the lights are reflected in the shiny parts of the garlands.

Sarah, Lola and BB-8 also decorated their tree, which BB-8 finds fascinating!

Sarah’s slowly starting on her house, once I make a few ornament hooks. Have you started decorating yet, and if not, when will you?

Anyways, see ya!

For When the Time Comes…

When I print miniature labels for things, I usually print them in large batches. In this batch was the grooming kit labels (in both sizes), and these First Aid kit labels.

IMG_2122_1

There were a lot of them.

The printable came from Desktop Stables, and contains various horsey medical-related things like a box of rubber gloves, a year’s supply of wormer, and what I think is a tub of poultice.

IMG_2125_1

I made this syringe out of a cotton bud that had the fluffy ends removed, the pointy end of a toothpick and paper, which was rolled around the cotton bud in the shapes I needed.

River’s learning about herself, I see.

All the various bottles and boxes fit in this bag, which can be carried over the shoulder when necessary. My favourite thing is probably the little tubs, I’m extra happy with how they turned out, especially the one with the yellow lid.

Anyways, see ya!

Trophies

Recently, I finished up a pair of little trophies.

IMG_2098_1

They’re made of some old charms I had lying around, which I cut the loops off, glued on some popsicle sticks and repainted.

IMG_2099_1

They were meant to be Schleich scale…

IMG_2100_1

…but I think they’re a little large.

IMG_2101_1

Fortunately, they are a better scale for Breyers.

Everyone wants a look at the shiny things!

Anyways, see ya!

Bigger Bottles

Along with the little bottles I made for the Schleich stable, I also made some Traditional scale ones.

IMG_2082_1

They’re the same labels, but the bottles themselves are different in some cases.

IMG_2084_1

Left to right: cooling spray for the clippers, hoof oil (which I made a while ago), tack soap, fly spray, tack wipes and leather soap. As well as the box for it all and a rag.

(Sarah looks like it’s Christmas above, hehe.)

IMG_2090_1

Lola’s not a fan of the clippers…

Compared to the smaller set, minus the smaller hoof oil because that’s in a box … somewhere. Perhaps I need to add a sponge to the large set, and a brush. Though in making a brush, I may accidentally end up with an entire grooming kit.

Anyways, see ya!
